This box was reverse engineered & fabricated as new replacement. Typically the only original parts from customers old boxes that may be usable are the rear throttle & support brackets that support the square mounting flange, as seen on the left corner, at the top of the box surface.

0552164-4 is a short version for later model Cessna 172's. This box replaced the longer box pictured above. Unlike factory manufactured boxes, the inner flapper valve shaft has been linier aligned with the outer bearing housings. This blue printing process provides a velvet smooth carburetor heat motion & eliminates cork-screwing which often binds & sticks the valve so it never really closes or opens in full position. Also, it improves the life & cycling of the valve which in turn means less wear & tear.
